The BRICS business council summit taking place outside Mokopane in Limpopo, is expected to draft economic resolutions for the advancement of business, to be adopted by all five member states.

Delegates including Chief Executive Officers of various companies and possible investors are attending the two-day summit aimed at attracting investment and strengthening trade relations.

Council member with the BRICS Working Group on Finance, Sello Rasethaba, says trade is one of the key areas that need to be accelerated within the bloc.

“We still have a lot to do in terms of the balance of trade among the countries, with most of the imports coming from China and India; in as much as we allow them to come and tender for goods and services in our country, we must also be able to do the same so it must be reciprocal,” he said.
