TV star and businesswoman, Bonang Matheba’s tax evasion case has been postponed to the 27 November at the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.

Matheba, who was all smiles, appeared briefly in court with her legal team. With Tax season for non-provisional taxpayers closed for the 2018 tax season, Matheba was one of the celebrities netted in SARS naming and shaming campaign, to expose high profile individuals accused of failing to submit their tax returns.

Despite the controversy surrounding her case, Matheba left the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in high spirits on Wednesday. Her case for business and personal tax evasions was heard briefly before it was postponed.

Her legal representation said that this will allow them to make further representation to the State.

Matheba faces tax fraud charges for allegedly failing to pay personal tax between 2007 and 2017 and company tax between 2014 and 2017.
