Five men arrested in connection with the daring cash heist in Boksburg east of Johannesburg earlier this month are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The suspects face charges of armed robbery with aggravating circumstances, attempted murder and possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition.
The five suspects are all expected to return to the dock on Monday morning after their case was postponed last week for further investigation.
It’s alleged that the suspects ambushed two G4S cash vans and blew them open with commercial explosives before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects were all arrested at the George Gogh hostel in Johannesburg following a high speed chase and shootout with police.
Several firearms including AK47 rifles, ammunition and some of the stolen money were seized.
The remaining suspects are still at large.
