Bloemfontein Celtic coach wary of Wits

Bloemfontein Celtic’s Serbian coach Veselin Jelušic is looking forward to compound the misery of struggling Absa Premiership defending champions Bidvest Wits.

The two sides will face off in the Telkom Knockout final on Saturday evening at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu. Jelušic – the former Angola and Botswana national teams coach – says he’s wary of the potential threat posed by Wits.

He, however, remains confident of helping Celtic to lift their fourth only trophy in over 30 years.

Celtic last won the trophy when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2012 Telkom Knockout final.

Jelušic – who’s also the reigning Absa Premiership coach of the month – is determined to get his second win over Wits in two months.

“It is my first season but I have a lot of experience in official competitions… I think all of us together our players, all coaches, management our supporters we will work together to achieve this cup.”

Meanwhile, Celtic’s Cameroonian goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb – who was part of the 2012 triumphant team – hopes to win his second silverware with the Phunya Selesele club.

“The feeling I have in 2012 is the same feeling today. And I know that Wits is the big team. They’ve proved it… Very, very good team… So, we believe in ourselves and we know that if we work hard, fight hard, we gonna beat them.”
