The Black Friday shopping spree has provided scores of unemployed youths in Pretoria the opportunity to earn some money. Various shops in the Menlyn Shopping Mall brought in casual workers to assist this weekend.
Black Friday shopping specials will be available until Sunday. The shopping mall intends to attract about a million shoppers from Friday.
The mall’s General Manager Olive Ndebele says they want everyone to participate in the city’s economy.
“Absolutely so… We pride ourselves as a mall to employ about 8 000 people and during this festive season – we even see in our services, additional security, additional cleaners, additional people working in the mall and public areas as well as in stores.”
