Biya, Osih cast their votes in Cameroon elections

Cameroon President Paul Biya and opposition candidate Joshua Osih have cast their ballots in the country’s presidential election in the capital Yaounde. The 85 year-old Biya who has been in power since 1982 is among nine candidates seeking a 7- year term.

In his campaigning he blamed separatists for the Anglophone crisis gripping the country, but he acknowledged their grievances. Six million Cameroonians have registered to vote in the poll. President Biya and his wife Chantal voted at Ecole Bilingue de Bastos polling station

Analysts expect Biya to win another 7-year term even after the opposition attempted a coalition going into the poll.
