President Cyril Ramaphosa will grant former Chief of State Protocol and recipient of the National Order of Luthuli, Ambassador Billy Modise, a special category 1 funeral.
This is according to the Presidency. 87 year- old Modise, an ANC Veteran, died on Wednesday at the Unitas Hospital in Pretoria after a long illness.
Rampahosa says Modise served the country selflessly and diligently. The Presidency says Ramaphosa has directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at every flag station in the country until the day of the funeral on Thursday next week.
