The Melbourne Renegades have opened their account in Australia’s Big Bash T20 League with a four wicket win over the Perth Scorchers.

Fresh from his victorious stint in the Mzansi Super League on Sunday night, when he lifted the inaugural cup with the Jozi Stars all-rounder, Dan Christian was back in the middle for the Melbourne outfit.

He claimed three scalps for just 22 runs to help bundle out the Scorchers for a paltry 103 runs in 19 overs.

The home side suffered an early scare having been reduced to 17 runs for four wickets in the fourth over.

Christian also came to the party with the bat, guiding his side to a four wicket victory with a maximum boundry and with 28 deliveries to spare for their first ever win over the Scorchers.
