Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok legend Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira says he is grateful for the opportunity he had during his rugby career.

Mtawarira announced his retirement from international rugby on Wednesday.

The squad is in Durban for their victory tour.

They started at Umhlanga, made a quick stop at KwaMashu Towship, and made their way through to the City Hall where they were welcomed by hundreds of fans.

Speaking at a media briefing at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, Mtawarira says he will now focus on making it big in business.

“I am also grateful for the journey that I’ve had. I have also had an opportunity with the security Fidelity group in the last years. So I have managed to have one foot in the business world so that is my plan after rugby. I am one of the directors in the Fidelity group.”
