Banyana move up in latest FIFA World Rankings

Banyana Banyana are ranked 48th in the latest FIFA World Rankings they move up two places in the latest cycle. They are the second lowest ranked team that will form part of tomorrow’s draw for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Jamaica are the lowest ranked team that has qualified at 53. The teams will be drawn into 6 groups of four with the continental teams separated and with no more than two teams from Europe in each.

The top six teams in the rankings, who will be the seeded teams for the draw are the United States, Germany, France, England, Canada and Australia.

USA will go into that Draw as Ranking leaders after strengthening their hold on top spot, while hosts France (3rd, up 1) have swapped places with England (4th, down 1).

Zambia (114th, up 2) collected this month’s highest points total (66) after causing upsets against Equatorial Guinea (70th, down 16) and South Africa (48th, up 2) in the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
