Azapo joins millions in mourning Malinga

The Azanian People’s Organisation (Azapo) has joined millions of South Africans in sending condolences to the family and friends of music maestro Robbie Malinga who passed away on Monday.

Malinga had been ill for some time and was admitted to hospital in June after being diagnosed with anaemia.

Azapo President Strike Thokoana says Malinga it is sad for the country to lose a talented musician at a young age like Malinga.

Thokoana says Malinga will be remembered for serenading his crowds with good ad quality music.

Meanwhile, music producer TK Nciza says Malinga was always looking for new talent and strived to move the South African music industry forward.

“We have a lot of stars through Malinga’s writing through his intellect and through his love of music and you know today they are family providers those people because of him. He took pride out of that. He always you he called me to say “We need to come with a new young male artist you know like we did with Ntando, something that will be fresh “. Many producers don’t move with times but Malinga he was always moving with times because he understood that you have to adapt and move forward.”
