Berita drops new album

Afro Pop artist Berita has released a new album titled “Songs of Empowerment”. Famously known for her track, Berita says the new album is aimed at empowering the listener’s soul and mind.

SABC journos shine at Vodacom Awards

SABC journalists were amongst the top winners at the 2014 Vodacom Awards in Midrand. Special Assignment’s Hazel Friedman, Melini Moses and Nomawe Solwandle were awarded for their exceptional work in broadcast media. Solwandle won the accolade for her coverage of the bucket system in the Western Cape.

WineX festival opens in Sandton

Wine enthusiasts indulged in a flavour spectrum at the annual Wine X festival at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday. Wine X Festival is one of the biggest festival in the Southern Hemisphere with a history dating back to 15 years ago.

Nestlé Community Awards
And finally the North West Province scooped the Nestlé Community Awards. The awards promote agriculture and food security.

Since 1993, Nestlé South Africa has hosted the Nestlé Community Nutrition Awards following a need to recognise and reward efforts by rural women who work tirelessly towards improving the nutritional status of their communities by establishing food gardens.

Nestlé also introduced the school’s category in 2009 to further encourage school going children to take part in the broader national food security and poverty alleviation drive.
