An application to interdict the funeral of Hip-Hop artist Jabulani Tsambo, who is affectionately known as ‘HHP’,  will be heard in the High Court in Johannesburg on Friday.

Tsambo is due to be buried in Mahikeng on Saturday, but his partner Lerato Sengadi is trying to interdict the family from going ahead with the funeral.

The family says she is not his wife, but she says they were married.

Sengadi has accused the Tsambo family of side-lining her. She has been at loggerheads with the patriarch, Robert, since the HHP’s death last week.

In her papers filed in the High Court in Johannesburg, she wants all documents the family found at HHP’s Randpark Ridge house.

Sengadi wants the funeral on Saturday stopped, the body handed into her care and the responsibility to arrange the funeral given to her.

She says it was the artist’s wish to be buried in Johannesburg where his 13-year-old son lives.
