Another ANC court battle looms in KZN

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Another court battle could be looming for the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal. A group of disgruntled members from Moses Mabhida region have threatened to take the party to court if delegates from the region participate in the upcoming provincial elective conference.

The conference is scheduled for this weekend at Mpangeni on the North Coast. The disgruntled members have been accusing party structures in the region of manipulating processes ahead of the conference.

Spokesperson for the aggrieved members, Msizi Ngcobo, claims some of the delegates come from bogus branches while others were elected at improperly constituted branch meetings.

“Should branches be granted a permission to be part of the provincial conference, we are then going to challenge that. The branches that the regional executive committee claim to represent are branches in our view that were not properly constituted because in our case you will be told of the branch general meeting at venue X when you arrive at venue X you will find that there is no one there and we will contest these issues in court.”
