The Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Caucus, Annelie Lotriet, will be the party’s interim Parliamentary leader until an election is held next Tuesday.
This follows the resignation of Mmusi Maimane as Parliamentary leader on Thursday morning. Maimane resigned as party leader on Wednesday.
Earlier, former Chief Whip John Steenhuisen said he was approached to take over as Parliamentary leader.
Steenhuisen says he will consider the position and make an announcement in due course.
