With counting for less than a third of the remaining voting districts in Gauteng remaining – the African National Congress (ANC) has again risen above 50 % in the race for votes.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) remains second with 27.84% and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has over 14%. Even after dipping below the 50% mark for most of Friday, the ANC remained positive that it would bounce back.
The party has maintained that it will win the vote by a majority.
On the other hand, the EFF has grown by about 4%, from 10% in 2014. The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) complete the top five in Gauteng.
