The African National Congress has passed the seven million votes mark with over three quarters of Voting Districts (VDs) counted.
The governing party was quickly solidifying its position at the top of the leader board with 77% of the VDs counted. To date, the total number of votes counted stands at just over 12.3 million.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) currently has 2.7 million and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) – the only of the big three to show growth in these elections – has managed 1.2 million votes so far.
Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) are also showing growth, with the two holding position four and five respectively.
