As calls mount for President Jacob Zuma to step down, the African National Congress’s (ANC) NEC governance subcommittee has asked for the Presidency to be strengthened to ensure it best runs the heart of government.
In a statement the subcommittee says the step is necessary, given the scale and complexity of delivery across three spheres of government.
It also noted that several state-owned enterprises were plagued by poor governance and allegations of corruption.
The subcommittee says protocols for SOE’s are being finalised.
