President Cyril Ramaphosa will unveil a bridge that will link Mdantsane Township and Phumlani Village near East London, Eastern Cape, on Sunday. He will then embark on a door-to-door campaign in the township.

Members of the ANC’s National Executive Council (NEC) arrived in the province on Saturday for a visit that forms part of the Thuma Mina campaign.

NEC members have been deployed in Port Elizabeth, Mthatha, Komani and other towns to conduct door to door campaigns.

President Ramaphosa is also scheduled to visit the home of ANC Veteran, Majorie Nothemba Fazzie in Duncan Village. He will later address a rally at the Winter Rose stadium.

ANC NEC member Pemmy Majodina says: “Mama Fazzie is one of the veterans the president visited in January and made a commitment that he will come and rebuild her house which currently has got two bedrooms. The house will now have four bedrooms. He will be checking the progress made and will visit more than 307 families whose shacks burnt down last week.”

“We are going to be screening them and ensure that they get accommodation,” adds Majodina.

The President will also unveil a bridge that will link Mdantsane Township and Phumlani Village near East London in the Eastern Cape.
