ANC leadership meets ZCC Bishop Lekganyane

Reading Time: < 1 minute

After 10 years of refusing to meet with the ANC, the Zion Christian Church Bishop Barnabas Lekganyane has extended an invitation to the party’s top six to attend a meeting in Moria, Limpopo on Thursday.

Lekganyane met with ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa, and three other top officials.

Deputy President David Mabuza and Chairperson Gwede Mantashe were absent.

Ramaphosa says the party is on a quest to reconnect with its roots following lost ground in the 2016 local government elections.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Ramaphosa, holding the hand of Ramarumo as Lekganyane is known, is heard saying, “To get blessings from Bishop Lekganyane; to get blessings from the ZCC is the best thing that could happen to the ANC and to the country.”
