The ANC’s National Working Committee (NWC) says KwaZulu-Natal is ready to hold its regional and provincial conferences.

The NWC has been on a two-day visit to the province to assess the state of readiness for the regions and province to hold conferences.

On Monday, the leadership met with party structures in the province and after lengthy engagements with the branches and regions, party leaders say KZN is ready.

This, despite some tensions on the ground. In Pietermaritzburg disgruntled party members protested outside the venue where the leadership was meeting with branches.

ANC Secretary General, Ace Magashule says while challenges exist, they will be dealt with through ongoing engagements.

A Provincial Task Team, with a term of nine months will replace the Interim Committee that was established in January.

Magashule says he believes the province is united.
