The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has paid a visit to the Nazareth Baptist church, also known as Shembe.

This follows Saturday’s visit to the church by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa. Both delegations asked for divine intervention ahead of the party’s elective conference this weekend.

The provincial leadership says the province which takes the biggest delegation to the conference is ready for the gathering.

Provincial chairperson Sihle Zikalala says the party wants to ensure a successful and peaceful conference.

“The President came without the knowledge of provincial leadership surely we knew that wasn’t a government program, we knew it wasn’t sanctioned by the ANC-SG. It came from him it was not representing the ANC and as the structure of the ANC, we felt it was important to come and report and get Unyazilwezulu’s blessings and views on issues we are advancing going to the national conference.”
