The case by disgruntled Free State provincial executive committee members to have the African National Congress (ANC) December conference nullified has been struck off the roll by the Johannesburg High Court with costs.
The Provincial Executive Committee filed an application that sought to nullify the ANC Provincial List Conference arguing that it was illegitimate, but the ANC mother body argued that the Free State has time to file this application and did not exhaust internal processes. It argued that the matter is not urgent.
The PEC wanted the matter to be heard before the general elections.
ANC spokesperson Dakota Legoete says they accept the judgment of the court but say action must be taken against members who bring the party into disrepute.
