The fate of North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo will once again be on the agenda of African National Congress (ANC) deployees to the province on Wednesday.

Mahumapelo’s critics have threatened to intensify protests should the ANC delay to respond to their demands.

On Tuesday, the Freedom Front Plus called on the Public Protector and the Hawks to investigate allegations of corruption against the premier relating to the acquisition of business enterprises and the donation of a herd of cattle to former president Jacob Zuma.

Political activist, Solly Bokaba says, “Our people are yearning for a moral and ethical leadership. We are saying Supra does not represent what the president is saying about a new dawn.  By staying in power he is creating a problem for the president’s vision of a new dawn.”

Meanwhile, ANC regional structures in North West have come to the defence of the beleaguered Mahumapelo saying they are against all the calls for him to resign.

Protests that have erupted across the province are aimed at calling on the premier to quit.
