The African National Congress (ANC) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) posted their comments on social media as election results started trickling in early on Thursday morning.
The ANC is currently leading in eight of the nine provincesin South Africa with 54.85% of the national votes , with 30.75% of the national votes counted. DA is the main opposition with 26.03% and EFF currently in the third spot with 8.48% of the votes.
The ANC posted pictures of party leader Cyril Ramaphosa thanking those who voted.

The main opposition party, the DA led by Mmusi Maimane, also thanked voters.

The EFF also posted early on Thursday morning noting how they have shaken those in the ruling party since the party’s birth six years ago.
