AmaMpondo King pledges to build decent toilets in schools to honour Winnie

AmaMpondo King Ndamase Ndamase has hailed the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela for her love of the people of Mbizana in the Eastern Pondoland, where she was born.

The monarch says Madikizela-Mandela had pledged to build decent toilets at the local school after a five year-old girl fell and drowned in a pit latrine at Luna Junior Secondary School outside Mbizana early last month.

King Ndamase says Mama Winnie’s passing is a huge loss to the people of the Eastern Cape, especially the Pondoland area.

“Mama Winnie heard about the child who died through the pit toilet at school and she sent Prince Madikizela to the school so that she could help or donate or do something better or safe for the children at school. So today they had an appointment with Prince Madikizela but sadly nobody knew that today she’ll be gone.”
