A 54-year-old businessman, Sydney Mabuza, is to appear in the White River magistrate court for a bail application.
Mabuza was arrested last week together with his 21-year-old wife for allegedly being in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
They were arrested at their home during an operation involving the Special Task Force, the SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory and SANParks.
The police also found an undisclosed number of identity documents, banks cards and SASSA cards.
The operation was focusing on rhino horns trafficking. The wife has been released on a twenty thousand rand bail.
