Actor Patrick Shai was hospitalised on Monday after being shot with rubber bullets multiple times during a protest for electricity in Dobsonville, Soweto.
The 7de Laan actor says he was trying to intervene between the enraged community and the police when he got caught up in the standoff. He has since been discharged from hospital.
The community had taken to the streets demanding the restoration of their electricity, which was cut off on Friday.
