A call for inclusive growth kicks off WEF Africa talks

The 2019 World Economic Forum on Africa has begun in Cape Town with a call for an inclusive growth and shared futures especially for the poor.

The three day meeting brings together some heads of states and business leaders from across the world and the continent.

Finance Minister Tito Mboweni has officially opened the meeting on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The president had to attend to students who were protesting against the abuse of women following the death of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana.

Mboweni says no one should be left out as the country embraces new technologies.
