The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) launched its election manifesto this past weekend, where the party identified seven factors it believes are obstacles to economic growth, national unity and happiness of South Africans.
Reverend Kenneth Meshoe, leader of the ACDP, says high unemployment and very few job opportunities is the first major obstacle.
He says escalating crime is the second obstacle and the party will increase the number of law enforcement officers and heavier prison sentences.
“We want to review the parole system and deny bail for murder, rape, armed robbery, human trafficking and so on,” says Rev. Meshoe.
Rev Meshoe says people’s religious beliefs cannot be separated from their political views, hence the ACDP does not seperate them.
