Members of police union Popcru at the Correctional Services Department are refusing to return to work at the Poynton Building in the Pretoria CBD.
Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga shut down the building last week.
Msimanga alleged that after touring the building which houses both Correctional Services and members of the SANDF he found that the building was not compliant with health and safety measures.
Popcru spokesperson Richard Mamabolo says the Correctional Services management is forcing workers to return to an unsafe building.
