Institute highlights importance of organisational ethics

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Spokesperson of the Ethics Institute, Grace Garland says organisations are immensely impactful in communities at large. She says how an organisation conducts itself affects the society as a whole.

The Ethics Institute hosted its 8th annual conference in Johannesburg recently.

The focus was on ethical practices in organisations.

With the likes of the Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, guests looked into issues of corruption and how leaders and individuals can change their ethical conduct.

Speaking on Morning Live Garland says if an organisation can provide skills, capabilities and moral decision making to bring about positive actions in the organisation, that will have a positive flow into the society.

She says those in ethics management often find it a lonely and difficult job making such conferences a necessity.

She says: “The conference was a networking session to share ideas on how leaders in ethical management can implement changes in their organisations. It was also a chance for them to feel re-energized to go out and work on changing mindsets in their organisations.”
