McBride assault case back in court

Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) head Robert McBride is on Monday expected back in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court for allegedly assaulting his daughter.

He faces a charge of child abuse with an alternative charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The assault allegedly happened while they were driving in a car.

McBride was previously released on R10 000 bail on condition that he did not contact any of the witnesses.

This includes the daughter he allegedly assaulted as well as his younger daughter.
