Five people have been injured and taken to a local hospital following a collision with a truck on the N2 north bound near the NPC cement factory.

Rescue care spokesperson Gerald Jamieson says the truck driver lost control and collided with two vehicles on the opposite carriage way.

“On arrival paramedics found that a truck had somehow lost control on the North bound and come through the centre medium and crossing four lanes of the South bound carriage way. The truck collided with two vehicles in its path. Five people had sustained various injuries and were stabilized on the scene before being transported to various hospitals for further care they required. At this stage, events leading up to this collision are unknown,” Jamieson says.
