Police have arrested 22 suspects aged between 26 and 40 for various crimes including business robbery and drug dealing in the Johannesburg CBD and Tembisa, east of Johannesburg.
All the suspects will be appearing in the Johannesburg and Kempton Park Magistrate’s Courts on Wednesday.
Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela has also welcomed the 15 year prison sentence handed down to Miguel Moffat, who was convicted of hijackings in Eldorado Park.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says: “In Tembisa, six suspects were arrested for business robbery and three unlicensed firearms were recovered.”
“In Johannesburg, two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs, three for fraud, five for dealing in dagga and four for being illegal immigrants.”
