President Cyril Ramaphosa has revealed that South Africa will hold it’s 2019 general elections before May.

He was speaking during the meeting with the council on foreign relations in New York on the side-lines of the 73rd UN General Assembly.

The meeting was attended by academics and people with international business interests amongst others.

Asked about the ruling ANC’s support ahead of the polls, President Ramaphosa maintained that unity is prevailing with the party following the hotly contested conference in December last year.

He says the party is renewing itself in the way that it functions and its appealing to the people and those who are disillusioned to come back.

He also says a number of other organizations that the ANC used to work with are coming back.

“The ANC is once again finding traction and I’m confident that it should win the next elections which will be held before May 2019,” he adds.
