Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku has appointed 11 hospital CEOs in the province. Three hospitals are however still without CEOs.
Masuku says his department will start a process of headhunting three candidates before the end of the year.
He made the announcement during a media briefing in Johannesburg. Last month Masuku said he hopes to fill all vacant positions including for nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals before the end of the year.
He says he hopes the new CEOs will bring renewed energy in the public sector.
“Our target is to make sure that when we start the fourth and the last quarter of the financial year, which is December, all these CEOs would have been appointed so that we don’t have a big gap.”
