Bafana striker Khenyeza goes AWOL again November 09 2009 , 4:53:00

Wayward Bafana Bafana striker Mabhudi Kenyeza has again gone AWOL. Khenyeza has been dropped from the Bafana Bafana squad for the two international friendlies against Japan and Jamaica. This comes after he failed to report for camp yesterday.

All locally-based players including those in PSL action this weekend were supposed to report for camp last night. Khenyeza was glaringly absent. He arrived this morning -accompanied by Mamelodi Sundowns official Trott Moloto claiming he was injured. But he featured in his club's 0-1 loss to Golden Arrows on Saturday, and was reportedly at training this morning.

But coach Carlos Parreira immediately replaced Khenyeza with Arrows' Richard Henyekane. The injured defender Siboniso Gaxa has been replaced by Lance Davids from Ajax Cape Town. Everyone else - including striker Benni McCarthy and captain Aaron Mokoena have reported for duty and they are eager for a win in the upcoming friendlies.

Bafana Bafana keeper, Moeneeb Josephs, says it a breath of fresh air to have Carlos Parreira back in the national team. Josephs says as players they are aware that the public want nothing else but good results. The team will train in Johannesburg tomorrow morning before departing for Port Elizabeth.
