Zenani's driver charged with murder July 26 2010 , 7:45:00

The man accused of killing Nelson Mandela's great granddaughter, Zenani, in a car crash ,Sizwe Mankazana, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, reckless and negligent driving and drunken driving.

The 23-year-old man accused of causing the death of former president Nelson Mandela's great grand-daughter in a car crash, appeared in court and his case was postponed to August 27.

Thirteen-year-old Zenani was killed while returning from the World Cup opening concert in Soweto last month. Her passing on led to Mandela cancelling his World Cup opening ceremony appearance.

Smart, intelligent, humble and full of life were just some of the words used to describe Zenani Mandela, who was buried at Fourways Cemetery last month.

Mourners at the funeral service, which was held in the St Stithians College chapel in Sandton, painted a picture of an adorable 13-year-old girl loved by her family and friends.

Her grandfather Oupa Seakamela said she was an "old soul who knew things even adults didn't know".

"I called her Princess Makombo because everything she did, she did with style... dignity. She carried herself like a princess." - Additional reporting by Sapa
