Senior Nafcoc officials locked out of offices November 20 2009 , 2:16:00

Senior National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc) officials have been locked out of the business chamber's offices in Johannesburg, despite a court order that they should be allowed onto the property. This comes amid a long running leadership tussle between Nafcoc's president Buhle Mthethwa and Lawrence Mavundla.

There is a strong police presence at the building as people inside the building are still refusing to allow senior Nafcoc members, who support Mthethwa, inside. Yesterday, the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg granted an order that the officials, who support Mthethwa, should be allowed access to the building and their offices.

Mthethwa was recently expected to 'spill the beans' on corruption in the body's investment arm - Nafhold. Mthethwa and senior Nafcoc leadership were supposed to have taken a decision to take the matter to the Hawks. Tension has been simmering between Nafcoc and Nafhold since Nafcoc's leadership demanded that shares be allocated to members countrywide.
