Kaizer Chiefs coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, yesterday was found guilty by the PSL disciplinary committee on charges of bringing the League into disrepute and fined R50 000, suspended for 12 months. He was also handed a one match ban and ordered to pay the cost of the sitting amounting to approximately R21 000.
This follows an incident that occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and MP Black Aces on February 24, where Vermezovic stormed onto the field of play in an aggressive and menacing manner charging towards the referee, with the result that he had to be restrained by Chiefs players.
The sanction will be effective seven days from date of judgment subject to his appeal. The case involving six Santos officials and players appearing on charges of bringing the League into disrepute following unsporting behaviour and abusive language towards the referee, has been postponed to March 15. -Sapa
