SA's Schwartzel joint leader at Hong Kong Open golf tournament November 13 2009 , 5:04:00

South Africa's Charl Schwartzel shares the lead after the second round of the Hong Kong Open golf tournament.

Schwartzel is tied in a group of four players who lead the field by a stroke at the halfway stage. Despite starting his round with a bogey on the first hole, the South African recovered to return a 4-under-par 66.

Schwartzel's 4 birdies on the back nine was enough to finish the day at 9-under to share the lead with local favourite Wen-chong Liang, Gregory Bourdy of France, and Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen. Schwartzel's compatriot Rory Sabbatini is also well placed - he is just one stroke off the pace, after returning a 3-under par 67.

In Melbourne, world number one Tiger Woods has opened up a three-stroke lead in the second round of the Australian Masters.

Woods enjoyed a bogey-free round with four birdies to dominate proceedings -- carding a four-under 68 to move to 10-under 134 for the tournament. American Jason Dufner and Australians James Nitties and Greg Chalmers are tied for second place. South Africa's Branden Grace who shared the overnight lead dropped to 16th place.
