England cricketers land in SA for two month tour November 02 2009 , 6:10:00

England cricketers have arrived in South Africa for their two month tour. The last time the two sides faced off was during the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy in Centurion two months ago when England captain Andrew Strauss refused his South African counterpart Graeme Smith a runner during a match the Proteas lost, subsequently bundling out of the competition.

The local fans are however poised to remind the English of their dislike for the visitors. Even Strauss admits there will be odd comments from the crowds, but he says such will not bother him.

To add fuel to an already tense series, the man South Africans love to hate, Kevin Pietersen, has been cleared fit to play following a lengthy injury lay-off. The four South Africa born English players in Pietersen, Strauss, wicket-keeper Matt Prior and batsman Jonathan Trott, will surely be in the fans' firing line.

England will play three warm-up matches beginning with the Eagles in Bloemfontein this Friday before the first of two T20 Internationals against the Proteas next week-end.
