The Brett Kebble murder trial will resume in the High Court in Johannesburg this morning. Self-confessed hitman, Mikey Schultz, has taken the stand in the trial of murder accused Glen Agliotti.
Agliotti, who is the sole accused in the trial, pleaded not guilty to four charges against him. The charges include murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Schultz who claimed to have pulled the trigger that killed Kebble, turned state witness in exchange for immunity from prosecution. He hardly mentioned Agliotti in his evidence.
Schultz says he received his orders from Clinton Nassif, who was head of security for the Kebble family. He says Nassif told him that Kebble wanted to die. The court heard that Kebble had serious financial problems. Fearful of his imminent arrest, Schultz says Kebble would rather be remembered as a martyr than a thief.
During his testimony, Schultz conceded that Agliotti did not conspire or benefit financially in Kebble's murder.
