Funeka and Guzman fight to a draw November 29 2009 , 1:02:00

The International Boxing Federation lightweight title remains vacant after East London's boxing idol Ali Funeka and Joan Guzman of Dominican Republic fought to a draw in Quebec in Canada last night.

Boxing South African's  acting CEO Loyisa Mtya says the IBF have ordered that the two boxers  meet again within 90 days for the vacant title. He said the date and venue have not yet been finalised. This was the second time Funeka tried to win the world title.

Early this year he lost on points to Nate Campbell for the same title, however Campbell was stripped of the title as he failed to make the official weight limit for that fight. According to Mtya who accompanied Funeka's camp to Canada, Funeka fought very well and he deserved to win. They are expected to be back in the country early next week.
