Q: How do I subscribe to your newsletter?
A:

Send and email with your email address to yourvoice@sabcnews.com

Q: Where can I locate archived articles?
A:

SABCNews.com doesn’t have a separate section for archived articles but you can locate any article that we have published through the Search function located at the top of the page.  Just type in your keyword and browse the results.

Q: How do I register on your website?
A:

In the top right corner next to the Search bar there is a link to Register on our site.  You are required to complete the registration form.  After you click submit you will be re-directed to the homepage, which as a registered user you are now allowed to customise. Registered user will just need to login in on their next visit to access their personal information, participate in discussion forums or download podcasts.

Q: How do I edit/remove my profile information?
A:

First log into your account. Next click on the Profile button in the top right corner.  All your details will display and you may edit.  When you are finished click Submit to apply the changes or reset to clear them.

Q: How do I personalise my homepage?
A:

The Personalise button is located underneath the Additional Features section in the left navigation menu.  Click on it and follow the instructions.

Q: Will my personal information be made public on the site or distributed to third parties?
A:

No, your information is private and SABCNews.com is not allowed by law to reveal your information to any other parties except content managers of the SABCnews.com website.

Q: Can I post announcements?
A:

No, but you can suggest a topic for the Discussion forum and if it’s Newsworthy and credible we might publish it for debate.

Q: How do I send suggestions for news stories or media release to SABCNews.com?
A:

You can send any suggestions to either feedback@sabcnews.com or to yourvoice@sabcnews.com. If we deem the story to be newsworthy we will forward it to the correct departments for processing.

 

Q: I have a comment, query or complaint about your website, who do I speak to?
A:

Send your feedback to either feedback@sabcnews.comor to administrator@sabcnews.comin order for us to deal with the matter.

Technical Or Software issues
Q: I cannot seem to play any audio or video clips from your site, what should I do?
A:

SABCNews.com uses RealPlayer 10 to encode most of our clips.  You need to have RealPlayer 10 installed on your computer to play it.  Other formats that we use are WAV for streaming and MP4 or MOV for podcasts.

 

Q: What browser should I use to best view your site?
A:

1.      The site was developed to optimally run in Internet Explorer, but should also work in the browsers listed below.

  • Apple Macintosh Safari 2.x,  3.x # *
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2, 7.0
  • Firefox 2.0.x, 3.0.x *
  • Netscape 8.1.x
  • Mozilla SeaMonkey 1.1.x

Q: Your site doesn’t work in my browser. Why is this?
A:

There are a number of reasons why the site doesn’t display. It could be any one of the issues listed below.

  • SABCNews.com is experiencing technical difficulties either with our content or our hardware. Please visit the site again later.
  • Your browser doesn’t support the dynamic technologies that power our site like JavaScript.  Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser or perhaps just update your browser to a newer version.
