PAC President Letlapa Mphahlele says the party is readying itself to take over from the ANC after next year's elections. Addressing a media briefing in Johannesburg, Mphahlele said the party will soon embark on an aggressive campaign to ensure victory. He says at worst the PAC will be the official opposition.
Mphahlele's confidence flies in the face of speculation that the party is not ready for the upcoming general elections due to infighting.
Mphahlele also confirmed that the party's special congress will be held between July 4 and 6. He says he will consider standing for re-election as party president if branches want him to.
