The ANC denied today that it had tightened the control of communications

March 09, 2008, 11:15
The ANC denied today that it had tightened the control of communications around its president and other senior leaders. Spokesperson Jessie Duarte told the City Press that no such concerns about Jacob Zuma and the public pronouncements of other leaders had been raised.
"That discussion never happened in the ANC. We are very happy with the way the president has handled (communication) matters," she said.
City Press reported that the issue of communications was discussed at the party's National Executive Committee's second meeting in January.
"There were further discussions about communications after a series of public relations gaffes that have occurred since the new leadership was elected in December," the paper said. - Sapa
