Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Helen Zille led a march against drugs through the streets of Johannesburg today. People's main concern was that drugs were being brought in to areas once considered safe for children, said Westsiders Against Addiction Group chairperson George Pappas.
"Our fight is against substance abuse, a problem that is growing and getting worse every day," he said.
Marchers took to the streets at Brixton Recreational Centre in Braamfontein, wearing DA T-shirts bearing the slogan: "No to drugs; and save our children."
Drum Majorettes and a mini-league soccer team led the march to the Jan Hofmeyr Recreation Centre, in downtown Johannesburg, where Zille is expected to speak. - Sapa
