The ANC denies that it's asking for a re-opening of the arms deal probe

January 07, 2008, 18:30

The ANC says it will release the names of its National Working Committee (NWC) members tomorrow.

The ruling party is holding its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting since last month's Polokwane conference, at which a new NEC was elected.

It is being held in Esselen Park, east of Johannesburg.

The one-day meeting was expected to discuss the appointment of 28 NWC members, the possible charges against new party President Jacob Zuma, the traditional January 8 statement, and internal organisational issues.

The meeting is still underway behind closed doors. Announcements on the outcome will be made tomorrow.
